Leadership Team

Chief Executive Officer

John Hsu, CCIM, CPM, MBA

John has been involved in the real estate industry since 1988. He is the Officer of STC Management, overseeing all operations and designing its overarching strategy.

Under John’s leadership, STC Management expanded rapidly and became the first Asian firm in the country to receive the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation. STC now manages a portfolio in excess of $1.5 billion of commercial properties in Southern California.

John is a CPM (Certified Property Manager) and a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member). He currently serves as the President of Greater Los Angeles Chapter of CCIM. He was the first Chinese-American to be selected to attend the 2009 Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy, a program established by the CCIM Institute to help foster the development of the next generation of leaders in the commercial investment real estate industry.

John is also a member of AIR (American Industrial Realtors), ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management), among many others.

John has many interests, including singing, dancing, golfing, hiking, playing tennis and ping pong, and playing all types of water activities. He also enjoys exploring new technological gadgets and was among the first to own an iPod and iPad.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in Business & Economics from UCLA and an MBA with a concentration in Management & Investment from Pepperdine University. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Property Management Division

Susan Lu

Susan serves as Director of Property Management and Manager of Human Resources at STC Management. She has been with the company since its inception in 1985.

In her role at STC Management, Susan is actively involved in property management, leasing, financial analysis and spearheads human resource initiatives.

During her tenure at STC Management, Susan spent two years working with an overseas affiliated PR company in Taiwan. Her experience in public relations and marketing greatly enhances STC Management’s efforts to promote properties to public.

Susan has been a California Licensed Real Estate Agent since 1987 and she currently holds a California Broker’s License.

Susan is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), California Multiple Listing Service (MRMLS), Tri-Counties Association of Realtors, National Notary Association (NNA), Apartment Owners of Association of Southern California (AOA) and The Apartment Association, Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA).

Susan graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a double major in Marketing and Real Estate Management. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Melody Yang

Melody is the Director of Property Management at STC Management and has been with the company since 1998.

Melody graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a degree in business administration and finance. She has held the California Licensed Real Estate Broker’s license since 2000. She is also a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), California Multiple Listing Service (MRMLS), Tri-counties Association of Realtors, Apartment Owners Association of Southern California (AOA), and the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA).

Melody is trilingual in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, and contributes her extensive experience in real estate management and leasing to overseeing all aspects of the company’s daily management operations.

Even though Melody is not an expert cook, she loves to eat all types of cuisines. Amazingly enough, she can still keep fit and slender. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Benjamin Chen

Benjamin is the manager of Property Management at STC Management. His background in military training and real estate investment and development uniquely prepares him to lead STC’s property management staff toward technological solutions that focus on customer service between owner, tenants and vendors. He also provides input for the company’s future business strategies.

Prior to joining STC, Benjamin was the Director of Asset Management for a publicly traded company based in Taiwan, where he led a team of professionals (general contractors, appraisers, accountants, lawyers and brokers) to conduct investment research. During his tenure there, Benjamin acquired over $450 million worth of real estate assets in Southern California, which includes more than 5,000 units of residential development and more than 3 million SF of commercial properties.

Benjamin has been involved in real estate development since the age of 18. He holds a General Contractor’s License and has completed 160 hours of General Certified Appraisal courses. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and a master’s degree in Construction Management from Northeastern University at Boston, MA. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Benjamin has a work hard, play hard attitude. He enjoys all outdoor activities, especially off-road camping. He currently offers classes in Chinese Martial Arts and Shaolin Wing Chun free of charge to his students.

Leasing Division

Justin Tsai, CCIM, MBA

Justin joined STC Management in 2009 and is the manager of its Leasing Division. In his role, Justin is responsible for STC Management’s overall leasing strategies and operations.

Justin brings over five years of experience in commercial real estate investment, leasing brokerage, tenant/landlord representation, market research and financial analysis.

Prior to joining STC Management, Justin was a principal at an Orlando, FL based commercial real estate firm specializing in restaurant representation. Justin also served as the Lead Webmaster for CNN.com's International Sites, responsible for overseeing daily front-end technical operations of CNN.com's four major international editions. Furthermore, Justin also worked with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's Concession Management, a business unit that is responsible for generating $260 million of annual revenue from its retail, restaurant, and services operations.

Justin is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Designee and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Justin earned his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with certificate in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and his Master of Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

In his free time, Justin enjoys practicing all types of martial arts and loves to eat beef noodles.

Investment Division

Dalerie Wu

Dalerie is the manager of the Investment Division of STC Management. In her role, she oversees STC Management’s acquisition and disposition strategies and operations. In addition to brokering deals, she also conducts market research and secures financing for target projects.

Prior to joining STC Management, she worked at The Walt Disney Company and Stanford University in the areas of business planning, finance and marketing. In addition, she also has experience working at RealNetworks in Japan and at L.E.K Consulting.

She is a member of the California Receivers Forum, a candidate for CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member), and a California licensed broker. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and is proficient in Japanese.

In her free time, Dalerie loves traveling and photography; she has traveled extensively in Asia and North America. When she is not traveling, she enjoys playing music, dancing and writing. She is a published author in China.

Dalerie graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering.

Marketing Division

Amy Li

Amy joined STC Management in 2008 as Manager of its Marketing Division. Since joining the company, she has also taken on the additional role of Office Manager. Amy leads all of STC’s marketing efforts, such as organizing promotional events to draw traffic to STC’s portfolio of properties, assisting tenants in making their products more enticing through creative designs, and developing and maintaining connections with numerous media channels, including ethnic (Asian, Hispanic, etc.) and mainstream media.

Amy brings over twenty years of graphic design experience to STC Management. Prior to STC, she was one of the head designers at a publicly traded company that creates customized promotional products.

Amy joined STC Management with the vision of bringing creative marketing to the real estate industry. She believes that marketing should not be boring in any field. Through her efforts, she has created not only a uniform image of STC through its marketing pieces, but also value for the community through promoting local businesses and putting on free informational seminars about topics relevant to the community.

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from California State University at Fullerton. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Cantonese.

Accounting Division

Irene Lai

Irene joined STC Management in 2010 as Accounting Manager/Consultant after taking an early retirement from Ameron International, a publicly traded company.

Irene has over 28 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting as an Accounting Manager/Plant Controller. In addition, she also took on the role of computer system coordinator.

Irene holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University in Los Angeles. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

In her free time, she enjoys drumming, dancing and taichi.

Maintenance Division

Edy Nicolaisa

Edy is the manager of STC Management’s Maintenance Division and has been with the company for over 20 years. He has a vast amount of knowledge in all facets of maintenance, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, laundry equipment, and all types of emergency repair. Edy brings not only decades of experience to the company, but also a wide network of connections that he can call on at any time.

Edy is a very trustworthy friend and a dedicated colleague. He enjoys working with tools and fixing things. When he is faced with a problem that needs to be solved, he demonstrates incredible persistence and will stay up all night to solve a problem if necessary.

Edy spends his free time with family and is actively involved in activities at church.
